The SCARE of my life!!!

So today, we gave Madi some scrabbled eggs. And then we left to go to a soccer game. Well when we got there she was all swollen in the face and really red. So I turned right around and went straight to the Dr.'s. I didn't think that anything would be wrong in giving her the eggs because she had no problem getting her first flu shot. But now they think that she is allergic to the eggs and not to get the 2nd flu shot. So now I am totally freaking out because I have to think of everyone and anyone that could come into contact with her. But I am so glad by the time we got to the Dr.'s she was pretty much clear so hopefully we will be able to revisit eggs when she is a little bit older......

Pumpkin Patch

So last year Jeremy and I went to this pumpkin patch and we had so much fun. So we thought why not make it a little tradition. So we took Madilynn here and she loved it!

Yum. This pumpkin taste great.

We couldn't pass up a way cute picture moment

Madilynn and I got tired of walking around so we sat in the cart and had Jeremy pull us around.

In loving memory of Fluffy

We had to put our cat Fluffy to rest last Thursday. She was acting really weird and wasn't moving around a lot. I mean she weighed 23 lbs so it wasn't unusual for her not to be moving around a lot. But we took her in and they said that she had probably fallen down the stairs and had a broken hip and back! I was so upset, I thought I was a horrible mom. But then they said it was probably her weight that made her legs give out and that it was pretty normal for a cat of her size.
We adopted her when we moved to Connecticut. And they weren't sure how old she was but low and be hold she was 13 when we took her in the other day. We had no idea that's how old she was.
Now poor Pepper our dog is looking for her all over the place. But I am not ready for another pet.

Umm this phone is YUMMY!

Madi finally has her own cell phone. She slobbered mine to death so I had to get a new one. She loved it at first but then realized wait Mommy doesn't use this anymore. So she has lost interest and wants to kill my new phone. But doesn't she look so darn cute in her dress...I was at work and Jeremy dressed her up all cute and sent me this picture to help me get through the day. What a good guy I have!!!!

6 crazy qUiRks I have......

Tagged from April.....
Defination of quirk:
n.1. A peculiarity of behavior; an idiosyncrasy: "Every man had his own quirks and twists" Harriet Beecher Stowe.
2. An unpredictable or unaccountable act or event; a vagary: a quirk of fate.

Rules: Link the Person who Tagged you. Mention rules on your blog. Tell about 6 quirks of yours. Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.Leave a comment to let them know.

1. I have to eat breakfast everyday. Whether it is 7am or 7pm

2. I love to stay in my PJ's all day long. Drives Jeremy insane because when he gets home he wants to do something but has to wait for me to get ready.

3. Everytime I go to the grocery store I always have to go down the baby isle and by something for Madilynn. This also drives Jeremy insane.

4. I check my bank account everyday. Which takes away any surprise that Jeremy might have for me.

Geez this is hard......

5. When I DO get ready, I have to do it in order or I would forget to put on my deodorant or wash the shampoo out of my hair.

6. Well last but not least, I am obsessed with checking my e-mail and blog everyday to see whats new with everyone I know.

I tag,

Hope you have fun doing this.........

sTuCK aT WoRK aNd iTs 4 am

So I am completly bored out of my mind. I didn't go into work earlier on Thursday because I wanted to have a little more Madi time and besides I think that she had a really bad tummy ache. Well then I got the bright idea to go into work while Madi was sleeping (but I don't think I thought this through because I don't know what I am going to do tomorrow or today when I can't keep my eyes open) and work at night and do my unit dosing then. Boy I am done and it's 4 am and I still have at least an hour and a half and I have nothing to do. Hense the blogging. I think I might start doing this as my normal thing, but I guess I need to keep myself busy through out the night or it won't work. I think now that I have gotten to the point of blabbing about nothing. So anyways just thought I would say hello to everyone.

Tanille's 8th Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANILLE!!!!

We went to the Mayan for Tanille's birthday. All she could talk about when we got there was the huge snakes out front. So I guess it was appropriate to take her picture in it.

Taryn, Tanille, and Tyler. (And yes ladies it's not a great pic of Tyler but he is single)(He is going to kill me for putting that)

Had to take a chance for a family picture.

Here is the bunch of us. My mom was there but insisted on being the one to take the pic.

We can never own a goat.

So Jeremy makes these crazy sounds to see Madilynn's reaction. Well he made a sound like a goat and this is what we got.

I felt so bad for her. She totally freaked out.

So this is what happens when Dad feeds me.....!

I guess Pepper will never go hungry. He loves the baby food just as much as she does.

My first little pony

I have to say, I haven't seen too many people be able to put their 7 month olds hair into a pony. And I love the cute little headbands with the flowers and such, but when you have a head full of hair, it just doesn't work. I love it because she already does the smoochy lips.

SADS Awareness Month

So our friends the Miller's have this syndrome in there family. And so I want to show my support and post this information to get the word out like Melissa says, "It could save someones life".

So if you can repost this on your blog to get the word out. Thank You.

Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome (SADS)

Here are some eye grabbing facts to help you along...

• Each year in the United States, 400,000 Americans die suddenly and
unexpectedly due to cardiac arrhythmia's. 3,976 of them are young
people under age 35

• Long QT Syndrome (LQTS) is 3 times more common than childhood
leukemia (ALL) in the US and occurs 1/3 as often as cystic fibrosis and
twice as often as PKU (an infant protein deficiency which causes
mental retardation)

• SADS occur in about 240 people per 100,000, with 20 having LQTS,
20 having ARVD and 200 with HCM

• 1 in 200,000 high school athletes in the US will die suddenly, most
without any prior symptoms

Hundreds of children and young adults die each year in the United States due to Long QT Syndrome.
Any young person who has experienced unexplained fainting should be tested.
It is extremely important that all family members be tested for these conditions once one family member is identified as having the condition.
SADS’ Mission: To save the lives and support the families of children & young adults who are genetically predisposed to sudden death due to heart rhythm abnormalities.
Long QT Syndrome
(LQTS)
What is Long QT Syndrome (LQTS)?
1. LQTS is a disturbance of the heart's electrical system, causing an abnormality of the heartbeat, or rhythm of the heart.
2. Because of this abnormality, affected people are vulnerable to sudden fainting (syncope) and even death.
3. Unfortunately, many times the cause of the syncope is overlooked and the events are called simple fainting spells or seizures.
4. Most often, these events occur during physical exertion or emotional stress. In some they occur during sleep.
5. Fortunately, most of these deaths are preventable if the condition is recognized and treated.
What are the Symptoms?
♥ Fainting episodes (syncope) during or immediately after physical activity
♥ Fainting as a result of emotional excitement/distress/startle
♥ Family history of unexplained death below age 40
How is it Diagnosed?
The diagnosis is made from an ECG that has been read by a cardiologist, not a computer. Usually a series of ECGs will enable your doctor to diagnose LQTS. In some cases, an exercise ECG or event monitor will clarify the diagnosis. Finally,a diagnostic genetic test is now available and is extremely useful for diagnosis and treatment.
How Is It Treated?
Treatment is very effective in the vast majority of patients. Medications called beta-blockers are effective in about 90% of patients. In the remaining cases, a pacemaker or automatic defibrillator is used.
A child should be seen by a doctor if she/he has:
• Family history of unexpected, unexplained sudden death in a young person
• Fainting (syncope) or seizure during exercise, excitement or startle
• Consistent or unusual chest pain and/or shortness of breath during exercise

How can you tell if their Canadian?

So the other day, my brother was taking my nieces school shopping. Well my oldest niece was looking really hard at the back of one of her earring tags that they had just purchased. So she asked my brother, Tyler, "how can you tell if people are from Canada?" Tyler said, "well I am not quite sure because they look like you and I, why do you ask?" Well then the funny part comes, Taryn said "well then how do they charge them a different price?" So because you all know how on the back of books and so forth, it says the Canada price and the USA price. I thought it was really funny.....I am sure she will love that I posted this.

Nutts Boating with the Hancocks

Monday the 18th, we took our friends Nisa and Colby out boating. This is Colby attempting to wake board. I can't say much because I don't even dare to try it.

Nisa and I are whimps when it came to being pulled by the boat. All we told the boys was SLOW!!!! So we just had a casual conversation. And screamed our heads off when the boys thought it would be funny to go fast or go in circles. Not Funny Boys!!!!

Then it came the boys turn. And I have to admit, I drive like a maniac when I am pulling Jeremy. So I had to forworn Colby which he was okay with.

Jeremy, Laura-Ann, Nisa, and Colby. Just hanging out relaxing. ( not too bad for us girls seeing as how we both just had a baby! )

My little Madilynn is 6 months old!!

Let's see where do I begin? I can't believe how time fly's. On one hand I want her to stay little so I can just hold her, but on the other hand, I love to watch her grow.
1. We started her on sweet peas and pear juice the other day. Both aren't going over so well. She gags with each bite. I try to be sneaky and mix in with oatmeal, but she yells at me.
2. She is rolling everywhere. It's just going to be a matter of days before she is crawling. She had started to scoot a little and when I saw that for the first time I thought "I need gates ASAP".
3. I love to watch her explore and learn and see new things. The look in her eyes are priceless.
4. She just got her 6 months shots and she has been a little stinker. CRANKY!!!!
5. To add to #4 I think that she is teething. So the combo is not a good one.
6. She is totally into the cat and dog. But they aren't so much into her.

Bear Lake and the Baby Raccoon

We went on our "first" family outing. We went for a drive up to Bear Lake. It was mine and Madilynn's first time to see the lake. While we were there, we decided to get out and just relax under this huge tree. While we were sitting there with my back to the tree, Jeremy said, "Don't move" I was sitting there thinking that there was a bear behind me. But little did I know it was a cute little baby raccoon.

Jeremy just couldn't resist, he had to get as close as he could to it. But I guess my definition of getting close to something is much different than his.

Yep that's right.....Jeremy is holding the raccoon. I was freaking out. All I thought about was rabies, I mean yea I looked at it but I was in the car with the doors locked and Madilynn tightly in my arms. Poor Pepper, we left him outside with Jeremy.

We learned how to finally use our timer on our camera. So here was our first attempt and it actually worked. Can you tell it was a little bright and windy outside???

We can't forget Pepper!!!

This is Pepper before Madilynn came along

Jeremy had him be our test baby to figure out how to use the carrier! It was so funny to watch but not good on the bladder when you are 8 months prego!

This is Pepper after Madilynn is born. Does he look a little tired?

Pepper figured if Madilynn used the chair, why couldn't he? Now I know what he did while we were away!

Finally home!!!!!

Grandma Pam visiting me when I got home.

So it was RSV season obviously! And with Madilynn having stayed in the NICU I wasn't going to take any chances. So I had to have my nieces Taryn and Tanille mask up. They didn't get to see Madilynn at the hospital so this was there first time seeing Madilynn.

Tanille thought she was a Dr. and didn't think much of it. It caused attention to her so she didn't mind.

Taryn all masked up. I know she felt dumb because she is almost a teenager and it was just stupid.

Meet Madilynn

When Madilynn was born, she was having a hard time breathing-they said that she had fluid in her lungs-so she spent a week in the NICU. And yes that is all of her hair......I had horrible heartburn now I know why!

It was so hard to have her in the NICU when I went home. But I know it was for the better. Everything has been fine since.

I was so excited to bring her home. This is Madilynn prepared for the great outdoors.

When "two" became a "family"

It all started with me being induced on February 11, 2008 at 7:00 AM

Then at 9:20 PM after my epidural wore off 4 hours earlier(which isn't fun when you are expecting not to feel anything) We finally got to meet our beautiful angel Madilynn

Our first family picture!
